Star wars armada. Imperials hunting out the last of the CIS

 Last weekend I had another game of Armada with my regular gaming opponent. We were both using fleets with admirals and ship we hadn't used before. I was using the CIS with the new Providence cruiser. While my opponent was using Imperials with his new Onager and Quasar.

The mission was to be a close quarters fight over an outpost.

My Deployment keep it tight and concentrate firepower.

Imperials plan to try a pincer movement. But are cautious with all my mines I have laid.


As we move in the squadrons start to probe the defenses.

Full speed ahead. The imperials try to stall as long as they can for the super weapon to fire. So i gun the engines to close in.


All power to broadside weapons. The Quasar gets cut off from support and takes heavy damage.

Meanwhile my munificent takes the full brunt of the Onager. Crippling it but not killing it.

I manage to slip through his lines but now risk crashing into my own ships.


The Quasar thought he had managed to escape. But my long range turbolasers still had reach

The Onager and one munificent took each other out in a hair of weapons fire.

 
At the end of turn 4 the last of my opponents capital ships had fallen and with just a few squadrons left it was game.

 

The droids came out on top in the end 460pts to 148pts. Both of us forgot a few things with our new admirals and upgrades but it was fun regardless. Both of us forgot to use swarm on all our fighters would could of helped kill other squadrons quicker. But over the coming games we will no doubt try these admirals again to better effect.

In a few weeks time I will be in Petone for and Armada event so come along meet a great group of players and have a few games.
